I have been pulling pension files on the Lappin family and found this information on my trip this week to the National Archives. George C. Tressell wed April 15, 1866 to Martha Jane Lindeman by Cunningham, Esq., at Beaverdam, Allen Co., Ohio. On his pension application his children are listed as follows: Dexter Clyde Tressel born January 15, 1867 Minnie May Tressel born July 10, 1868 He is listed as died December 19, 1911. He was removed from pension files on August 12, 1912, so believe the death year is correct. The children birth dates do not agree with what I found on the Internet. Does anyone know where he died or anything about his wife Martha? Samuel Lappin Tressell pension records Married Elenor J. Wood on June 21, 1860, at Ada, Ohio by John Latimer, JP. Children under 16 at time of fathers death were Sylvester born April 14, 1861 John born January 6, 1867 Jennie born September 16, 1868 Then says John died March 21, 1881. I was given another children Samuel Walter, born July 9, 1864, but nothing mentioned about him. Eleanor went on to marry Peter Hall on September 5, 1878, and divorced from him August 3, 1887. Then she married William Harris on October 21, 1889 at Erie Kansas. Samuel hurt his back and had his feet frozen in the service and she said that is what kept him from getting out of the way of the limb of a tree which fell on him killing him on February 1, 1869. I am working on Lappin descendants and would love more information on these families. In 1889 when Eleanor tried fro the pension she was living in South Haven, Sumner Co., Kansas.

Is there some reason that this message was sent '10' times? This is completely unnecessary -- and most of us don't want to have to delete l0 identical messages -- asking for help. I would hope the sender would bear this in mind next time he asks for help from the List. In it I found a note form Laura Gelwix wife of George W. Gelwix that stated she had the bible that belonged to Sarah's parents James and Anna Nancy Palmer Coffman of Mt Morris, Ogle Co., Illinois. I would love to know if it was still in position of this family or Laura's descendents.

You are a member of the George Kring, Sr. Family through George's son, Conrad Kring who married Catherine Seidner. I have a picture of Conrad and his wife in the Kring book, "From Sea to Shining Sea". Conrad was an a minister in the Evangelical Church and lived near what is today Columbus Ohio. The only information I have in the book on his son, Simon is his birthdate of Jun 19, 1849 and his last whereabouts were TEXAS. I have most of the Swartz family in the book since I had made direct contact with Orvo Swartz just prior to his death in 1979. Carol and Paul Kring, of this line also came to visit me prior to their deaths. This is exciting, can you provide names and email addresses or mailing addresses of any other lines connected to your Simon Kring? Some of these puzzle pieces are finally coming together. I am so anxious to hear from you. email me please at sankring@voicenet.com.
