I can give you lots of information on Jahns descendants but very little on ancestors. My father was Ernest Flottman, a half brother of Frank. I grew up in Neosho Co., Kansas and remember, as a child, visiting Uncle Frank and Aunt Carrie in Lawrence. Uncle Will Jahns had died before I was born, but I remember Aunt Tillie who lived in Chanute, and I remember Aunt Anna very well -- she visited us at the farm frequently. When she was older, Aunt Margaret, the youngest of the Flottman family, moved her to Kansas City and we saw her there occasionally. He married my g aunt Caroline Albertine Mathia, whose father Theobod Mathia came to America in 1872 from Waldhambach, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. He married Christina Sophia Reppert, who he had known in Waldhambach in 1874. They had 3 children who lived, the above Caroline Albertine, Christina Sophia, and my grandfather Louis Mathia. I have lots of info on the Mathia family but at present am trying to research the family of John Henry Jahns. Any more info would be appeciated. He succumbed to the effects of the morphine about 4:30 p.m. yesterday without recovering consciousness. Though up to a short time before the hour, there had been some indication that he might recover. PHOTO FOR KANSAS COURT Harkness' body was photographed this morning in order to satisfy the Neosho County, Kansas, Court, and his bondsman,that he was in custody. The disposition of his remains will probably await further advice from Sheriff W. Reynolds, who at the latest word from him was expecting to leave immediately for North Yakima to take the prisoner back. I would think that his second wife, Sarah E. Price b. 17 Jan 1850 in Rensselau, Jasper Co. Indiana (m. 1 Sept 1872). She died 29 Jul 1932 in Thayer, KS. is buried there also.. My husband's line is from Wm Fredrick Gibson's first wife, Margaret "Lucy" Custer (b.Sept 1841, IND-d. 1872 Crescent City, Illinois.)Their eldest son, John Edwin Gibson and wife Mary Elizabeth Stroud are my husband's gggrandparents. There is a Harrison Chapel Cemetery that one of her nephews is buried. The best we can tell you is that is it south of Thayer aobut 6.5 miles.
