    3. Sheryl, I am searching for my GGGrandmother's death records: Almarinda Cox, died 1880, Kansas. YEAR 1880 SURNAME Cox COUNTY Nemaha STATE Kansas AGE 48 (should be 50) SEX F. DEATH May BIRTH MI ?(this is incorrect, should be North Carolina?) CAUSE OF DEATH Consumption ID# MRT197 69619 I went in on your site, but the dates were after 1880. Where would I go to look for 1880 inforfmation? Thank you for all you do! Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: Sheryl McClure To: [email protected] ; [email protected] Sent: Monday, June 13, 2011 8:01 PM Subject: Re: [KSNEMAHA] 1875 Granada and Harrison twps.--link added Dear Kris-- Thanks for your kind words. I just added a biography for John W. Andrews, who is, I believe, the twin brother of Charles Burton Andrews. I also added a marriage license for Charles and Della DeBaun(?) Andrews on the marriage page. If DeBaun is not her maiden name, let me know--there were a lot of misspellings in the marriage records. The latest death records I have only go to 1899. 3. Dear Janet, You may have a hard time finding an actual death record of that early date. The Kansas History Center has vital records on microfilm for Nemaha Co., but they start in 1885. I copied the death records for 1892-1899 (mostly because they were darker and I thought would make more readable copies when I went to transcribe them). I hope to add more death records to the site in the coming weeks. The record you have, if you don't already know, is from the mortality index of the 1880 census. It gave her name as "A. L. Cox" and her birthplace was originally "America" but someone crossed it through and wrote "Mich" above it. Also, the initials "PR" were written just before her name, but I don't know what they mean. There may have been Nemaha Co. records kept before 1885 but they don't seem to be at Topeka. If you can view film of the "Seneca Republican" for May 1880 it might have at least a mention of her death. Do you know where she is buried?
