They may have also been involved in ownership of a boarding house or hotel. Family raised horses while in Kansas. My grandfather Edward McConnell was born in 1884 at Coffeyville, Kansas and died in 1964.I have a photo of my grandfather that was taken in about 1887 or 1888, he is wearing a knickerbocher outfit and his right eye is missing due to a wood chopping accident.
