The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Saturday May 20, 1933 Mrs. Susan THOMASSON, 87, one of the earliest settlers of the Parson vicinity, died at Parsons Thursday night and burial was there this afternoon. She was daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph GARBER, who located at Ladore in 1869 and ran a hotel there for two years, or until the founding of Parsons by the railroads destroyed Ladore. The Garber hotel building was then torn down and the Garbers took a homestead four miles northeast of Parsons. At that time, in 1871, Susan Garber was married to Perry Templeton who died a year later, and in 1873 she was married to W.P. THOMASSON, who died in 1912 at Parsons, where they had moved in 1898 and where he engaged in the real estate business. Mrs. Thomasson is survived by four sons, John TEMPLETON of Alberta, Canada, Fred THOMASSON of Independence, Frank Thomasson of Parsons and Will Thomasson of St. Louis.
