The Coffeyville Daily Journal Tuesday May 16, 1933 James HARWOOD, 21, living on a farm northest of Neodesha, was bitten on a finger by a copperhead snake Saturday evening. Although his arm swelled badly and he was ill for a time, his condition now is not regarded as dangerous. Mrs. W.A. CRAWFORD of Neodesha suffered severe injuries to her right hand yesterday, when her hand was caught in a power-driven clotheswringer. While the flesh was badly mangled, no bones were broken.
