The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Wednesday May 17, 1933 Max HERNDON, 15-year-old Miami, Okla., high school freshman, died last Sunday at Webb City, Mo., thirty minutes after he had suffered a broken neck and a crushed chest in an automobile collision at a Webb City street intersection. He had accompanied his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe A. Herndon of Miami, to Webb City for a visit, and was driving about Webb City, when the car he ws operating figured in a crash with one driven by Sterling Stewart, head of a Webb City undertaking company.
