The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Tuesday May 9, 1933 Max KRIEWITZ, 63, filling station operator at the Haddon store, four miles south of Nine-Mile corner on the Pawhuska-Fairfax road, was killed almost instantly by a charge from a shotgun late Saturday night, when he went out to talk to two or three men, who had driven into the station and turned off their lights. The driver of the car sped away immediately after the shooting. It is generally believed that the shooting resulted from an attempted robbery. Besides his wife, Kriewitz is survived by five children.
