I visited this cemetery about eight years ago while we were traveling through the mid-west and meeting a cousin for the first time. While we were at the cemetery, there was a lady from the area taking notes of names on stones. She told me that some had deteriorated and some had sunk into the ground. She was going to check, and possibly update, cemetery records. I thought she said she was going to post the information online. I lost my note with her name and email address, and haven't found any information online with these additional names, etc. The copy of cemetery inscriptions for that cemetery that I have is dated 1981. Is there possibly a cemetery 'office' or caretaker's building where information about burials might be stored? I am looking for burial data for Joseph Kelly JAMES, b. about 1888, died some time before the KS census of 1895. Also looking for burial data for his brother, Parker Lee JAMES, b. about 1890, died before the 1895 census. These boys were the sons of Harvey K. (Kiah) JAMES and Lyda KELLY JAMES of Independence, KS. At that time, it was not required that home births be recorded with the county/state. I learned this when I found that both of my grandparents had to obtain a 'Delayed Certificate of Birth', from the state of Kansas, as adults. While I was in Independence, I also visited the library and county records, looking for obituaries or any other record of their deaths. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Julia Athol, ID
