Prominent among the mid-summer parties was the luncheon-bridge at which Mrs. Guy STRAWN entertained 24 friends, including Mrs. J. Fred DILLMAN, Mrs. Henry MASON, Mrs. Dan WORK, Mrs. R.P. COLEMAN and Mrs. Jess OTTERSTATTER of Tulsa and Mrs. Clyde MORRIS and Mrs. Brice SUTTON of Bartlesville, Tuesday. The guests were received in the Strawn home, 319 North Fourth, for the affair. Places for the out-of-town guests were marked at a long table in the dinning room and the other guests were seated at quartet tables. Joanna Hill roses, arranged in a swan bowl, formed the centerpiece for the dining table and rosebuds in small vases centered the other tables. The yellow and white color combination was predominant in all the appointments. Mrs. Edith SKINNER and Mrs. Morris HAAS wer presented the score favors for the guests from this city and the scores for the out-of-town guests were held by Mrs. MORRIS and Mrs. WORK. Mrs. F.J. SELLARS was awarded the cut prize. This morning Mrs. Sellars was hostess at her home, 619 North Ninth, when she entertained with an informal breakfast. The guests were Mrs. STRAWN, Mrs. DILLMAN, Mrs. WORK, Mrs. COLEMAN, Mrs. MASON, and Mrs. Paul POTTER. Mrs. WORK has been the guest of Mrs. SELLARS and Mrs. STRAWN has entertained Mrs. DILLMAN and Mrs. COLEMAN. Mrs. MASON was the guest of Mrs. POTTER. Mrs. OTTERSTATTER, Mrs. MORRIS and MRs. SUTTON returned to their homes last night. The other out-of-town guests will return this afternoon to Tulsa. All are former Independence residents.
