    3. The Coffeyville Journal Montgomery County Wednesday September 22, 1999 Maxine Cummings. R. Maxine CUMMINGS, 68, of Chanute, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at St. Francis Via Christi Medical Center, Wichita. Mrs. Cummings was born April 1, 1931, at Sedan, to Ray Lewis and Gladys (Vernon) CULVER. She grew up in Sedan and graduated from Sedan High School. After her graduation she was employed at Sedan. She married Ray A. Cummings on Aug. 19, 1954, at Sedan. In 1969, the Cummings family moved to Chanute and had lived there since that time. Some of her hobbies were sewing, crocheting and playing Bingo. Mrs. Cummings was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, Ray; five sons, Carroll, Ray, Kenneth, Keith,and Gail, all of Chanute; a daughter, Charlene WILLIAMS, also of Chanute; a sister, Enola REYNOLDS of Farmington, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, on East 14th Street, Chanute. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Memorial are suggested to go to American Diabetes Association.
