The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Thursday October 7, 1937 Death Claims Local Girl. Dorothy Hendrickson Had Been Ill Six Weeks. Dorothy HENDRICKSON, 16-year-old daughter of Mrs. Alice OWENS, 1117 West Myrtle, died this morning at 4:30 at Mercy hospital after an illness of six weeks. Miss Hendrickson has been in the hospital for only a few days. Dorothy Hendrickson was born in Marysville, Arkansas, September 1, 1921. When she was ten years of age she moved with her family to Independence and attended the local schools. She attended the local high school last year, but was unable to attend this year due to illness. Surviving relatives are: her mother, Mrs. Alice Owens; two sisters, Lorene Hendrickson and Pearlene CAMPBELL of Independence and three brothers, Roy and Troy of Dumas, Texas and Junior of Independence. The body was removed to the Potts Funeral home. Funeral services will be held there Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold Humbert in charge. Burial will be in Mount Hope.
