Benjamin S. Griggs and Jane Struble had three known children, Margaret Struble Griggs,Richard Struble Griggs, and Martha Jane Griggs. Jane died shortly after the birth of Martha Jane. Benjamin S. Griggs then moved to Jersey County, Illinois and there on 20 October 1844 married a widow Mary Slaton. Sep 1845 they had Benjamin Harry Griggs. Benjamin S. Griggs died before 1850 and his line is in RootsWeb. Where and when did he die? The children were sent to different relatives. The 1850 census has Margaret to James L. Hixon in Hunterdon Co., NJ, Richard to his Uncle Aaron Griggs in Hunterdon Co., NJ, and Martha to her Uncle Samuel Griggs in Jersey Co., IL. Benjamin Harry Griggs is with his mother Mary in the 1850 and 1860 census. 9 Dec 1878 he married Margaret ! Greer the widow of John Davis. I would also like to know where she died.
