The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Monday September 27, 1937 Death Takes Laura Argo. Funeral Tuesday at Grace Methodist Church. Mrs. Laura May ARGO, 76, died at her home at 813 West Locust street at 8:45 o'clock this morning. She had suffered a paralytic stroke last may. Mrs. Argo had lived in Independence for 12 years. She was born May 20, 1861, near St. Joseph, Mo., and with her family came to Montgomery couty in 1872, and settled in the Elk City community. Mrs. Argo had been a member of the Methodist church since childhood. Survivors include two sons, Victor N. Argo, 817 West Locust street, and J. David Argo, 813 West Locust street. A grandson, John Raymond Argo, also survives. Mrs. Argo's husband died here in March, 1935. Funeral services will be held from the Grace Methodist chruch of which Mrs. Argo was a member at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon with Rev. A.C. Stewart of Fall River, formerly of this city, in charge. Burial will be in the White cemetery at Lafontaine, under the direction of the Potts funeral home.
