    3. The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Monday September 27, 1937 Sarah M. ROGERS, daughter of Gilbert and Mary DOMINY, was born Oct. 7, 1866, near Serena, LaSalle county, Illinois; passed away at the home 611 E. Myrtle St., Independence, Kansas, Sept. 21, 1937, at the age of 70 years 11 months and 14 days. She came to Kansas in the fall of 1873 and located on afarm six miles east of Independence near where the treaty was signed in 1870. She was a resident of that community for 42 years. She was united in marriage to G.W. ROGERS, March 10, 1886 and lived on a farm near the old home on Drum Creek until 1915 then moved to 611 E. Myrtle St., Independence. In 1931 she united with the First Christian church at Independence and was a faithful member until death. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, G.W. Rogers, of the home address, four children, Wilber Lee and Clarence D. Rogers, both of Independence, Harry G. ROgers of Tecumseh, Nebraska and Millie A. OWEN of Tulsa, Okla. One daughter, Elsie Irene preceded her in death. One sister, Mrs. H.S. OVERFIELD and one brother A.J. DOMINY, both of Independence. Eleven grandchildren and a host of friends.
