    3. The Coffeyville Journal Montgomery County Tuesday September 14, 1999 Toby Clark. Toby S. CLARK, 82, of Independence, died at Monday afternoon,(Sept.13, 1999) at Mercy Hospital, Independence, where he had been admitted on Saturday. Mr. Clark was born Sept. 8, 1917, at Glade Springs, Va., the son of Toby Clark and Lucille (Widener) Clark. He grew up in Glade Springs and attended school there, graduating high school at Glade Springs. He joined the Army Air Corps on Feb. 6, 1942, where he served in the African and European Theaters, and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was discharged July 21, 1945. Mr. Clark worked as electrical contractor in Denver, until he retired in 1980 and moved to Independence. He maried Lillian I. FRANEK on February 10, 1946, at Denver, Co. Survivors include his wife, Lillian; two sons, Warren L. of Liberty, and Doug L., of Lakewood, Co.; one brother, Robert of Glade Springs, Va.; and one sister, Dorothy BLACKWELL, of Glade Springs, Va.; and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Potts Chapel, Independence. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, under the direction of Potts Chapel. Friends may call at Potts Chapel from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. on Friday. Memorial are suggested to the Leukemia Society of American, and remembrances may be received at the funeral home.
