The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Friday September 3, 1937 Death Claims Ruben Everett. Resident of City for Eight Years Dies Yesterday. Death took Ruben Bennington EVERETT, 76, at the home of his sister, Mrs. E.R. HAYES, 205 South Sixteenth, Thursday afternoon at 4:35. Everett had been in failing health for many months and was suffering from a heart ailment. Besides his sister at whose home he passed away, Mr. Everett leaves a niece, Mrs. Edna REDDY of Independence, and a nephew, C.F. HAYES, 309 South Fifteenth. Three nephews and two nieces also survive. Mrs. Everett passed away several years ago. They had no children. Ruben Bennington Everett was born at Washington, In., on Feb. 11, 1861 and spent his boyhood there. He moved to Oswego at an early age and spent the major part of his life there, coming to Independence eight years ago. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at nine o'clock from the Potts chapel with Rev. H.L. Duncan of the Assembly of God church in charge. Brother Mobley of the Nazarene church will assist in the rites. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
