The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Tuesday November 9, 1937 James Crowell Dies Here; Funeral Services At Oak Valley Church. James CROWELL, eight-year-son of Mr. and Ms. Chas. Crowell of Oak Valley, Kansas, died at Mercy hospital here Monday afternoon at 4:10. The child underwent an emergency operation at the hospital November 1 for ruptured appendix and later developed pneumonia. He had been seriously ill for several days. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Oak Valley church with Rev. Carl Packard of Elk City in charge. Burial will be in Oak Valley Cemetery. The body is being cared for by the Longton Funeral home.
