The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Wednesday April 2, 1924 Announcement has been made of the birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. H.E. (Jack) HORNER, on March 23rd in their home at Neodesha, Kansas. The new arrival has been named Jackie Nell. Mrs. Horner was formerly Miss Nell HODGE of east of Coffeyville, and both Mr. and Mrs. Horner are well known here.
The Coffeyville Daily Journal Wednesday April 2, 1924 Baby Has Pneumonia. The 9-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. E.Y. BULLARD is ill of pneumonia at their home, 405 Union street. The infant, however was somewhat improved today.
The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Wednesday April 2, 1924 Thomas Croak Dead. Resident of This Vicinity Since 1869, Succumbs to Ailments, Incident to Old Age. Thomas CROAK, who has lived in this vicinity since 1869, died at 11:10 o'clock this forenoon at his home, three miles north and a quarter mile east of Dearing. Death was due to infirmities of old age. Funeral services will be conducted at the Holy Name Catholic Chruch Friday morning at 10 o'clock and burial will be in Robbins cemetery. Mr. Croak was born in Ireland and was aged 78 years, 10 months and 7 days. His wife died about nine years ago and he is survived by no children. John, Tom, and Dave McGRATH of this city and vicinity are nephews of the deceased. Mr. Croak came to America in 1866 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S. army for Indian service. He was with Custer, being one of the few survivors of the massacre.

I think the "Lynn" confusion came about because of it sounding similar to "Lem". An obituary from the Cleveland, Okla. paper gives his full name. This Lemuel Thornbrugh had no brothers who lived to adulthood, so that rules out that entire family. The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Monday March 24, 1924 Grandma MOFFET died recently at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma BOWERS, at Peru as the result of a broken hip, sustained in a fall. Burial was at Peru, where her husband was buried many years ago. She was 88 years of age.
