The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Friday April 18, 1924 L.H. Brown Is Dead. L.H. BROWN, who for thirty-six years lived on a farm six miles southeast of Edna, died this week at his home at Edna and burial was at Chetopa. He was 72 years of age and is survived by his wife. Three children died in infancy and one at the age of 24. Mr. Brown sold the farm in 1920 and moved to Edna. HE was a member of the Labette county Republican central committee at the time of his death and had been active in Republican affairs in that county for many years.

Burial was today with Masonic honors. He was 49 years of age and his nearest living relatives is Mrs. Eliza BEECHER, his second cousin, with whom he had lived since a child.

He came to Labette City in 1870 and lived in Labette county fifteen years, after which he spent thirty years in Missouri. A few years ago he located at Altamont. His wife died about six years ago and he had no children. Burial was in Wooden cemetery.

She was 70 years of age and came from Indiana with her parents fifty-eight years ago. She was married at Neosho county in 1869 to Henry Clay Hairgrove and they moved to Parsons in 1872. The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Wednesday April 2, 1924 James T. COOK, 41, proprietor of the Commerical Cafe at Parson, died there last night, two hours after he had fired a bullet from a .38 caliber revolver into his left side, it is believed, with suicidal intent. He had been in poor health for some time and had worried over a recent fire, which had damaged his cafe. He came to Parsons four years ago from Missouri and is survived by his widow.
