Announcement has just been made of the marriage of Miss Lea BOWMAN of Elgin, Kan., to Mr. Faye RUSSELL of this city, which took place in St. Louis, on April 26. The announcement of the wedding came as a complete surprise to the many friends of the groom in this city. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.L. BOWMAN of Elgin, Kan., and was graduated this spring from Hardin college, Mexico, Mo. She was a member of the Zeta Epsilon sorority at this institution. The groom is the son of Mrs. C.F. RUSSELL, 512 West Eleventh street, and has been attending the Missouri Military academy at Mexico, Mo., during the past two years, having graduated from that school this spring. He has received a large number of athletic honors during his attendance there. Mr. and Mrs. Russell arrived in Coffeyville this afternoon and were met by a large group of friends of the groom and escorted to his mother's home. After a visit here Mr. and Mrs. Russell will go to Elgin, Kan., where they will make their future home.

Mrs. Matilda CHANCE, wife of Caleb Chance, died of apoplexy at 5:50 o'clock this morning at the home, 1516 West Sixth Street. She was aged 82 years, 5 months and 26 days. Funeral services will be conducted at the home at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon by Rev. H.V. Spear and burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.

The Coffeyville Daily Journal Wednesday April 23, 1924 Mrs. Walter KEITH entertained the members of the Tuesday Auction Club in her home, 601 West Fourth Street, yesterday afternoon. The favor for high score was won by Mrs. Nina MAHLEY and a pretty favor was given Mrs. C.E. MESSER for holding the consolation score. Mrs. E.G. COYLE was the recipient of the high score among the guests. Concluding a delightful afternoon at cards, Mrs. Keith served a pretty two-course luncheon at quartette tables for which she observed the dainty color note of pink and white. Club guests for the afternoon wre Mrs. E.G. COYLE and Mrs. Joe BROGAN. The next meeting of the club will be in two weeks at which time Mrs. T.F. McNULTY will be hostess in her home, 144 West Fifth Street.

The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Monday April 21, 1924 Sarah C. Packard. Sarah C. POULSON was born at Danville, Ill., May 8, 1872, and departed this life April 19, 1924, aged 52 years, 11 months and 11 days. She was converted and united with the Methodist church at an early age and lived a consecrated Christian life to the end and was loved by all who knew her. She was united in marriage to Arthur Packard, on March 8, 1894. To that union were born four children, three daughters and one son. She leaves to mourn her death a husband, two daughters and one son, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.
