The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Friday May 12, 1933 Viola Pearl, 9-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Fiscus, of near Longton, died Wednesday, and funeral services were held yesterday at New Albany.
I am looking for anyone with more information on my ancestors. My mother Hazel Pauline Patterson was born 1938 in Cherryvale Kansas She was the daughter of Alvan Lee Patterson also born in Cherryvale Kansas in 1919 and Hazel Ruth Cook Patterson born in Cherryvale Kansas 1915 Alvan Lee Patterson is the son of Grover C. Patterson and Dora Belle Houdashelt Hazel Ruth Cook is the daughter of Charles Loraine Cook and Bertha May Hackler Sincerely, Ruth E. Zerby

The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Thursday May 11, 1933 Two 11 year-old bicyclists, Edward Peine and Melvin CROAN, Jr., who ran away from their home at Garnett Monday night, were stopped yesterday by Chanute police, whom Edward told the two had planned to go to southern Mexico to sell bananas. Although Edward never had been in souther Mexicon, he was fairly certain bananas grew there. Their capture relieved anxiety on the part of the their respective parents, but apparently their trouble were only started, for police said they were alleged to have stolen the bicycles on which they were traveling.

The Coffeyville Daily Journal Thursday May 11, 1933 Joe E. McFADDEN has been appointed chief of police at Ponca City to succeed Joe H. COOPER, who will continue on the Ponca City force. Both men are former Kay county sheriffs. McFadden was appointed sheriff when Cooper resigned last year to take the Ponca City position, and then McFadden was defeated for re-election last fall.
The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Thursday May 11, 1933 Pneumonia Fatal to Elmer F. CROSSMAN. Elmer F. CROSSMAN, 67, for thirty-five or forty years a resident of Coffeyville, died at 6:40 o'clock this morning in his home, 1604 Elm Street, following a week's illness of pneumonia. He was born March 13, 1866, at Greenfarm, Conn. Surviving Mr. Crossman are his wife, Mrs. Cora M. Crossman; four children at home, Glen, Ruth, David and Esther; two daughters living at Hattiesburg, Miss., Misses Dorcas and Mary Crossman; two stepsons, Roy and Emmett HICKMAN, at home; a brother, M. M. Crossman, of Bridgeport, Conn., and two sisters living in Boston, Mass. Funeral services, in charge of the Rev. Victor R. Greisen, pastor of the Assembly of God church, will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Carl V. Cash funeral home. Interment will be in Robbins cemetery.

Until failing health forced her retirement she was a leader in Pittsburg civic activities. She had lived at Pittsburg ten years.
The Coffeyville Daily Journal Montgomery County Wednesday May 10, 1933 Sylvester BLACK, 27-year-old member of the United States Navy, was killed yesterday in a motor car accident in Honolulu, according to a message received by his father, George Black of Bartlesville. The body will be returned to Bartlesville for funeral services and burial. Sylvester Black joined the navy about seven years ago, served in China three years, in the Philippines three years, and a year ago was transferred to Honolulu. He as a naval storekeeper. Besides his father, he leaves a sister, Miss Ruby Black of Bartlesville. The body will arrive at Bartlesville in about two week, accompanied by a naval escort of one man.
