Smith ;coffeyville, in July 1905,. and a Robert N.; Dewey I.T., that married a Cora E. Holoway, Dewey, I.T. in 1903, .. In the 1901 - 1905 and the 1906 - 1910 marriage books for Montgomery Co. have listed several Allison's. Don't know if these are any help. Let me know. Juanita

Columbus married Elizabeth Belle Truax 22 Jan 1893 in Cherryvale, Montgomery Co, KS. Elizabeth born 1876 died 1894 KS It appears Elizabeth died in childbirth with her first child. Columbus was found on the 1895 State Census for Drum Creek Montgomery co, Kansas, living with his brother Lee/Leroy Allison. I can't find any record for him after 1895. If any one knows this family please contact me. I would apprciate any information you might have on this family. Thank you very much. He may be listed by his middle name which may be Robert! Jenevia

    3. The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Tuesday July 20, 1937 Mrs. Elizabeth Crawford Funeral Here Wednesday; Died in Muskogee, Okla. Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth CRAWFORD, former Independence resident who died this week in Muskogee, Oklahoma, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Potts chapel with Rev. R.O. Penick of the First Methodist church in charge. Burial will be in the mausoleum at Mount Hope cemetery. Mrs. Crawford was the widow of C.R .Crawford, former Independence resident who died here 20 years ago. After her husband's death she moved from Independence, but she is to be buried here at the side of her husband. This morning it was learned that Mr. and Mrs. Crawford came to Independence in 1879. Surviving are: Mrs. J.M. BRAFFORD of Moundsville, West Virginia and Mrs. J.E. McCOY of Muskogee, daughters, and a son, C.I. Crawford of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Mrs. Crawford wa a member of the Eastern Star order. The Eastern Star members are to attend the services.

    3. The Independence Daily Reporter Tuesday July 20, 1937 Mercy Hospital Notes. Samuel CONNER, 1524 North Tenth, underwent a major operation this morning. Jacob SMITH of Cherryvale, who was admitted yesterday, underwent a major operation this morning. Jess ZOLLARS, who las week underwent a minor operation, has been dismissed and taken to his home. Mrs. Charles ARMSBURY, jr., who was injured 10 days ago in a car accident west of Independence is reported to be steadily improving.

    3. The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Monday July 19, 1937 Heart Attack Fatal to William H. SPAYD, Long A Cherryvale Resident. Cherryvale, July 19, (Special)--William Henry SPAYD, 77, a resident of Cherryvale for 55 years, died at his home here Saturday evening following an illness of a few days. Death was attributed to a heart disorder. Mr. Spayd was born July 16, 1860, in Scheafferstown, Pa., and came to Cherryvale when a young man. He operated a blacksmith shop here for many years and was said to have sold the first automobile in Cherryvale. He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge. Mr. Spayd first suffered a heart attack Thursday on a Cherryvale street. He had just returned from a business trip to Springfield, Mo., and complained of not feeling well. The widow, Mrs. Lillian Spayd, and one brother, Elie Spayd of Bartlesville, Okla., survive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church in Cherryvale with Rev. R. W. Shaw in charge. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery under the direction of the McDaniel funeral home.

    3. Fairview and Elmwood Cemeteries are operated by the City of Coffeyville. For burials in those cemeteries, you should contact the city offices (sorry, I don't live in the area any more, so don't have the number handy). Beyond that there is Restlawn Cemetery which is privately owned. It has in recent years been obtained by a local funeral service--I don't have the name. There are a couple of rural cemeteries where they still do burials, but I suspect that if your person is buried in Coffeyville, it would probably be either in Restlawn or Fairview.     3. The Independence Daily Reporter Mongtomery County Monday July 19, 1937 Mrs. Loua Patty Miller, Mother of J.I. Miller, Dies at Long Beach Home. Mrs. Loua Patty MILLER, 71, mother of Justin I. Miller of Independence, died Saturday afternoon at her home in Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. Miller was a member of a pioneer Kansas family. Her father, Mark PATTY, came to Lyon county abotu 1850 and built Patty's mill southwest of Emporia. Near there Mrs. Miller was born in 1866. Mrs. Miller was graduated from the Kansas State Normal at Emporia in 1884 and for four years was a teacher in Emporia schools. In 1889 she married Fremont Miller, former Lyon county treasurer and banker. They had lived at Long Beach for 15 years. Survivors besides her husband and son are a daughter, L. Hortense Miller of Kansas City, Mo., a foster son, David J. EVANS, Kansas City, Kas., and a sister, Mrs. Anna JAQUITH, Emporia. Mrs. Miller wa a member of the Eastern Star, the order of Beauceant and women's societies of the Methodist church. She was deputy treasurer of Lyon county for four years. Funeral services willbe at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Emporia.

    3. The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Monday July 19, 1937 Robinson Pruett. Funeral services for Robinson PRUETT, 88, were held this morning at Coffeyville. Pruett, a resident of Coffeyville for 39 years, died suddenly Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Pruett had celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary July 5. Four daughters and three sons survive.

Funeral services wer held this afternoon for Mrs. Vilancia BURT, 68, wife of Wilber Burt and a resident of rural Coffeyville for the past 30 years. She died Saturday morning in a Coffeyville hospital. Besides the husband, two daughters survive. Burial was made in Robbins cemetery.

FERPOTTO, superintendent, $133.33 monthly; Iva SCOVEL, high school instructor, $100; Harry THOMPSON, grade principal, $75; Caroline BARBER and WInifred DUNBAR, grade teachers, $70 each. Dearing, district 63--Willard EVANS, superintendent, $195; Dallas RAYBERN, $80; Georgia FOX, and Doris JAMES, $70 each. Card CREEK, district 70-Josephine POWELL, teacher, $70. Funeral services were held this afternoon for Jeanne Virginia WALKER, nine-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.V. Walker of Coffeyville, who died Firday as a result of streptococcus meningitis, a non contagious ailment. A sister survives with the parents.
