David MOUNT, 49, for 26 years a railway postal clerk from Emporia to Fredonia, died Wednesday in Springfield, Mo., at the Veterans' hospital. He was found by officers at Springfield Tuesday and is believed to have been slugged by unknown persons. Two sons reside in Emporia.

Funeral services were held at Fredonia this afternoon for Frank Lewis McCOY, for 50 a glass worker and landscape gardner, who died at his home in Fredonia Wednesday. Death was attributed to bulbar paralysis. The wife and a son survive.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Dm.2ADI/1544 Message Board Post: The Tehachapi News, Wednesday, November 8, 2006 Richard (Dick) Johnston of Tehachapi passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at home, surrounded by family, after a valiant 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer Dick was born in Coffeyville, Kan., on October 6, 1938. He resided in California since 1955. He lived in Mojave for 41 years and was employed by Monte's Auto Parts from 1961 until 1990 when he and his wife, Betty, became owners of the Lancaster store from which they retired in 2000. They moved to Tehachapi in 2002. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Betty, with whom he reached his goal of celebrating their 50th anniversary just nine days prior to his passing. He is also survived by his son, Steven and wife, Tracey, of Mojave, and their daughters, Tracey, Steffany and Cassidy; his son, Barry, of Bakersfield; brothers John Blakslee and Everett Blakslee, of Coffeeville, Kan.; brother Dale Blakslee and his wife, Jean, of Grove, Okla; and a sister, Ruby Eikenberry of Leoti, Kan. He was preceded in death by nine other brothers and sisters. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Lancaster Masonic Lodge No. 437 presided over services which were held at Wood Family Funeral Home, 321 W. F Street [Bakersfield], Monday, Oct. 30, with interment immediately following at Tehachapi Westside Public Cemetery. We wish to thank all friends, family, acquaintances, doctors and the nursing staff of Antelope Valley Cancer Center for the support given to Dick during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society in his memory. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is also a photo which I will provide to anyone who is interested.     3. The Independence Daily Reporter Mongtomery County Wednesday August 4, 1937 Death Takes James Smith. Tyro Farmer Dies at Home of Daughter. James L. SMITH, 76, a Tyro farmer for 55 years, died at 6:05 Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alta RILEY, Route 3, following an illness of several months. Cancerous condition was give as the cause of death. Mr. Smith was born June 5, 1861 in Indiana and at the age of 21 came to Kansas and settled on a farm near Tyro, where he had since resided. Surviving are the wife of Wann, Okla., five sons, C.J. of Bartlesville, L.E. of Caney, W.W. of Tyro, Bob and Clarence of Wann, Okla.; three daughters, Mrs. NOTLEY of Wann, Okla., Mrs. Etta LaFAVOR of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Alta RILEY, Route 3, Independence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the First Methodist church in Tyro with Rev. R.L. Hobart in charge. Burial will be in Pioneer cemetery under the direction of the Jackson mortuary.

Robert ROWE, 20-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Rowe, 1000 East Cedar, died at the family home last night at 10:30 following a brief illness. The parents and a sister, Georgia survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Jackson Funeral chapel with Rev. Charles Teal in charge. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.

Henry ACHGILL, 86, a retired miller, died yesterday morning at the home of his son, Harry Achgill in Cherryvalle following an 18 months' illness. Enlargement of the heart was given as the cause of death. Another son, W.C. Achgill of Albuquerque, N.M., also survives. Burial will be made in Coffeyville.
