    3. The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Monday October 11, 1937 Clifford Mizer. Clifford MIZER, former Coffeyville resident, died Saturday morning in a hospital at Sapulpa, Okla., from a skull fracture suffered two weeks ago when he was struck by a 16-pound sledge hammer while he worked on an automobile in the garage where he was employed as a mechanic. The body has been returned to Coffeyville for burial.

    3. The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Monday October 11, 1937 Waneta Carnes. Funeral services were held this afternoon at Coffeyville for Miss Waneta Zelma CARNES, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Carnes of rural Coffeyville. The young woman died Saturday morning of double pneumonia. She was a senior in the Coffeyville high school. The parents, three sisters, and four brothers survive.

Rev. Frank, who was formerly pastor at the Grace Methodist church, is a nephew of Mrs. L.B. BATCHELOR, 408 North Third.

Two sons and three daughters survive.

DICKEY, retired railroad employe, who died suddenly at his home southeast of Independence early Thursday morning was taken to Oswatomie Thursday evening and funeral services were to be held there tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. Burial will be in the Oswatomie cemetery.

Mrs. Fred BAILIE of Fredonia has been admitted for medical treatment. Mrs. C.S. BROWN, 824 North Penn. underwent an appendectomy this afternoon. Alfred BADEN, who underwent an emergency appendectomy a few days ago is reported to be slightly improved today.

Martin, shortly after she arrived in Coffeyville from Yearington for a visit.

    3. The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Thursday October 7, 1937 Mrs. Lester Brown Dies In Coffeyville Hospital. Zelpha Irene BROWN, wife of Lester Brown, of Tyro, Kansas, died this morning at 2:45 in the Southeastern Kansas hospital in Coffeyville following an illness of three weeks, which was caused from typhoid fever. Zelpha Irene STEWART was borb at Tyro, Kansas, August 31, 1917, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stewart for many years outstanding residents of that section. Charles Stewart, her father, preceding her in death, March 4, 1935. Funeral services will be held at the Skinner Funeral home in Coffeyville Sunday afternoon at 2:30. Burial will be in the Robbins cemetery, west of Coffeyville. Surviving are: the husband, Lester Brown and baby son, Ronnie; her mother, Mrs. Florena Stewart, a brother, C.L. Stewart of Marshaltown, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Viro CARNES, of Coffeyville.

Clarence Stewart of this city was present at the wedding, it was said. Mr. and Mrs. Boomis, both of whom are employed at the New York Candy Kitchen, are to make their home in Independence after they return from their wedding trip.

ROBERTSON, 86, who died at his home, 10 miles west of Independence, Monday afternoon, were held this afternoon at 2:30 at the Jackson Funeral chapel with Rev. Marion Simmons of Elk City in charge. Burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery.
