[Transcribed 28 Apr 2001 from Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Librarys IHS Microfilm Records.] Ephraim Samuel {OWEN}, died Monday, February 23, at 3:40 oclock at the home of his son, Harry {OWEN}, north of Beloit. He was born in Indiana, December 29, 1842. He was married October 23, 1863 at Worthington, Indiana to Mary E. KEYS. They came to Kansas in 1893 and located in the West Asher neighborhood in this county. A few years later they moved to the OWENS farm in Plum Creek Township seven miles northwest of Beloit. Ephraim Samuel {OWEN} leaves to mourn his death, one son W. H. OWEN. His wife died June 11, 1921. The deceased Mr. {OWEN} was a very fine old gentleman and was held in great respect by a large circle of friends. Aside from his one son, he leaves fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. {OWEN} was a member of the Christian church. The funeral services were held Tuesday at the Christian Church in Beloit. Rev. R. R. KAISER had charge of the services.
