Small world item: The grandparents of my husband's maternal grandmother, along with most of their adult children, immigrated to Mitchell Co, KS ca 1875. JOANNES/JOHANN/BERNARDUS2 ARENS/ARNS (JOANNIS HENRICE1 ARENS) was born March 30, 1788 in Damme, Oldenburg, GER, and died July 1849 in Minster, Auglaize, Oh. He married CATHARINA MARIA SCHULTE October in Damme, Germany, daughter of JOANIS SCHULTE and MARIA ORTMAN. She was born August 28, 1785 in Damme, Oldenburg, GER, and died October 29, 1850 in Minster, Auglaize, Oh. Notes for JOANNES/JOHANN/BERNARDUS ARENS/ARNS: They both came from Oldenburg, Germany to America in 1833. He died during the cholera epidemic of 1849 and is buried in the cholera section of the cemetery in Minster. No stone. Large memorial stone behind chapel at St Michael's Cemetery in Fort Loramie, OH. A researcher found graves in Germany of two infants. This could explain the large amount of time between the births of Elsie and John Henry.
