Ks Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ks/MitchellObits/10023 Surname: Carter, Darrow, Grout, McCracken, Grecian, Grout, Smith, Fell, Buffington ------------------------- Beloit Gazette (Mitchell County) 9 Sept 1943 Hamilton Margaret Ann McCracken, daughter of Perry and Sarah White McCracken, was born at Monmouth, Ill., Jan 17, 1854, and died at the Community Hospital Thursday, Sept. 1, 1943, aged 89 years, 7 months and 14 days. The McCracken family lived for some time in Iowa, and in 1870 move to the McCracken homestead in Jewell county where the marriage of Margaret Ann McCracken and Andrew Hamilton took place July 22, 1880. Mr. Hamilton operated a hardware store for some years at Randall, moving to Salem, Oregon later where he passed away. Two children, Felix and Ana, were born to the couple. Both children are deceased. Some years ago Mrs. Hamilton returned to Kansas to make her home with her brother and sister, W. W. and Miss Belle McCracken, but until recently Mrs. Hamilton made her home a t the county farm. Friends extend sympathy to the relatives, which include several nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held at the Raleigh Funeral Home Saturday morning at 9 oclock.
