The deceased was born at Monmouth, Illinois, February 8, 1859, making him age at the time of his death 68 years, 3 months and 12 days. He came to Beloit, Kansas, in 1870, and is one of the pioneers that endured the hardships of early days in a new country. He was married here to Miss Pearl Fenimore on March 1st; 1899, and they have lived for many years in the Mitchell-Jewell county line neighborhood north of Beloit. Mr. McCracken is survived by his widow and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mary Darrow of Asherville, Miss Belle McCracken of Grand Island, Nebraska, Mrs. M. A. Hamilton of Beloit and Perry McCracken of Jewell City, Kansas. He was a member of the Christian church. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 oclock at the Star M. E. church. Rev. Mr. Digby had charge of the services, and burial was made in the Star cemetery.
