    1. [KSMitchell] Looking for African-American WW vets and their families
    2. Were there _any_ resident African-Americans in Mitchell county? I remember only families of German and English/Irish/Scots descent. (perhaps there were a few exceptions, but I think there were very, very few Italian-Americans --I recall an Arrighi family-- and no African-Americans. I do not believe this is a case of a white American's prejudice-based forgetfulness, but an actual fact that there were neither black farmers nor black merchants --nor, for that matter, black poverty-- in Mitchell county. But it is time to check and correct my memory, if it is mistaken.
