He died sometime after between 1921-71 in Fergus Co., MT. His parents were both born in OH. He was married twice. First in 1891-2 to Elizabeth who was born either in IL or NE in June 1875. Her parents were both born in England. She died around 1904-5, probably in NE. They had 4 children: 1 Elmer Jefferson SIMPSON b.NE June 8, 1894 d.Auburn, WA Dec 1970 m.1915-6 Beloit, Mitchell Co., KS Florence "Flossie" E. SPATZ b.KS Jan 10, 1894 d.WA May 1990. Their children were Kenneth (my grandfather), Warren and Mary Elizabeth. All were born just outside of Beloit, KS. The family later moved to OR and WA . 2. Mary Elizabeth SIMPSON b.NE Dec 1896 d.post 1955 She is listed as living with her father in Fergus Co., MT in the 1920 census. She was apparently working as a school teacher. 3 Alice E. SIMPSON b.NE Aug 1899 d.? She too was living with her father in 1920. 4. Ralph SIMPSON b.NE 1902 d? He was also living his father in 1920 in MT. Jefferson remarried in 1905-6 to a Cecelia "Celia" D. b.NE 4/12/1879 d.Moore, Fergus, MT Dec 1971. Her Father was born in OH and her mother in W. Virginia. Jefferson and Elizabeth were living in Buffalo Co., NE in 1900. Jefferson apparently moved to IA around the time of his second marriage or perhaps shortly before. He then moved again to Jewell Co., KS 2 years later. They he moved to MO around 1914, and finally, to MT between 1917 and 1920. He and Celia had 4 sons all listed living with Celia and Jefferson in MT in 1920: 5 Ira SIMPSON b.IA 1906-7 d.? 6. Dow SIMPSON b.Prarie Twp., Jewell Co., KS 11/9/1909 d.Moore, Fergus Co., MT 10/10/1986 (He may have been married to a Catherine L. b.3/11/1903 d.Moore, Fergus Co., MT 3/11/1990) 7 Samuel "Sam" SIMPSON b.KS 1913 d.? 8 Wayne SIMPSON b.MO Mar/Apr 1916 d.? Any information anyone might be able to provide me with regarding Jefferson, his ancestors, either of his two wives and their children would be deeply appeciated.
