His parents were both born in PA. I have no more information regarding them. Benjamin married a woman named Elizabeth sometime between 1890-1893. She was born in 1874-75 in Indiana. Her father was born in Indiana. Her mother was born in OH. The family changed their name from SPATZ to SPOTZ around WWI then changed it back in the 1940's or 50's. I have nothing else on him directly until the 1920 census. Where he is listed as Benjamin F. Spotz (Sr.) 51 b in PA. His wife is Elizabeth "Eliza" 45 born in IN. They were living in Plum Creek, nr. Beloit, Mitchell Co., KS in 1920 with their 7 youngest children. They had at least 8 children. Of the 8 whose names I know, my great-grandmother Florence "Flossie" Elizabeth SPATZ was the eldest. Florence SPATZ mar.abt.1916 Elmer Jefferson SIMPSON b.Nebraska June 8, 1894 d.WA Dec 1968. SPATZ b.KS 4/24/1898 d.Anaheim, Orange Co., CA 11/11/1976 Anna B. SPATZ b.KS ca.10/29/1899 d.Beloit, Mitchell CO., KA 10/6/1993 mar. Oliver BOURBON b.10/15/1893 d.Nov 1976 Agnes M. SPATZ b.KS 9/4/1908 d.Oregon City, Clackamas Co., OR 7/2/1999 mar. Henry CLARK b.ca. 1909 They had a son named Robert born in KS around 1936. Benjamin F. SPATZ Jr. "Bennie" b.KS 8/16/1913 d.Beloit, Mitchell Co, KS 5/10/2001 mar. Geneva ---? b.7/27/1918 d.Beloit, Mitchell Co., KS July 1983 Hester F. SPATZ b.KS ca. 1916 Verna M. SPATZ b.KS 8/27/1917 d.Portland, OR 4/22/1999 mar 1941-2 Mr. NUGENT (killed in action during WII.) They had a son Ronald NUGENT born in 1943. This is all I have on Benjamin's family. Any information regarding Benjamin or his family would be deeply appeciated.
