Julia and Frederick VanVleit are listed in the 1880 census as residing at Turtle Creek, Mitchell County, Kansas. Julia Ann was 1st married to Francis Everett - who died in the Civil War. Both Julia Ann and her first husband were from Maine, and moved to Wisconsin in the 1850's. After the death of Francis, Julia Ann moved to Iowa (where other family members lived) and married Frederick. From Iowa they moved to Kansas. I would like any information that anyone might have regarding their life in Kansas. Did Julie Ann and Frederick VanVleit live there until they died? Are there cemetery records available for Turtle Creek. Any help is deeply appreciated. Gloria
