There are several listings for Ludwig families in Kansas at http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=5541&p=surnames.ludwig& maxrows=250&dir=next&cur=182.1 (the URL is one line). Some Ludwigs I went to school with at St. John's in Beloit were cousins Roger and Rodney, born 1951 approx. They are not in my data for family research.
