STALEY to Samuel CARTER This indenture made this 22nd Day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and seventy six Between Robert M. STALEY and Mary P. STALEY his wife of Beloit in the County of Mitchell and State of Kansas of the first part and Samuel CARTER of Second part Witnesseth that the said Parties of the first Part in Consideration of the sum of Five Hundred Dollars to them Duly Paid have Sold and by these Present Do give Grant Bargain and Sell to the said Part of the second Part his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situated in the County of Mitchell and State of Kansas and Described as follows to wit: The North west quart of section Twenty Six (26) Township Nine (9) South of Range Seven (7) west containing one hundred and sixty acres more or less. With the appurtenances and all the Estate, title interest of the said Party of the first Part therein And the said Robert M. STALEY and Mary P. STALEY Do hereby covenant and agree that at the Delivery hereby they are the lawful owners of the Premises above Granted and are seized of a good and indefeasible Estate of inheritance thereon free and clear of all incumbrances and that they will warrant and Defend the same in the Quiet and Pecable Possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, against all Persons ? claiming the same In witness whereof the said parties of the first Part have hereunto set their hands and seals the Day and year above mentioned Signed sealed and delivered in Presence of Robert M. Be it Remembered that on this 22nd Day of August A.D. 1876 Before me a notary Public in and for said county and state appeared Robert M. STALEY and Mary P.
