Samuel CARTER of lawful age, being first sworn, deposes and says That he was well aquainted with William HOLTON, who is grantor in a certain deed, dated August 8th A.D. 1872, being No. 2 of the attached abstract, conveying the South West Quarter of Section 27, Township 7, Range 6, in Mitchell County, Kansas to Margaret J. BAIRD and certifies that said William HOLTON, grantor therein, was at the date of the execution of said deed, a single man and further the affiant saith not.
