West of the 6th P.M. or further described as beginning at the NE cor of the SE ¼ of 1 T. 8, R 6 Thence West (896) feet thence south 508.5 feet Thence East (896) feet: thence North (508) /5 feet to beginning situated in the County of Mitchell and State of Kansas, was subject to taxation for the year A.D. 1910 And Whereas, The taxes assessed upon said real property for the year aforesaid remained due and unpaid at the date of the sale hereinafter mentioned And Whereas The Treasurer of said County did, on the Fifth day of September A.D. 1911 persuant to notice given as required by law, at a public sale of real property for delinquent taxes, held at his office in the County seat of said County, and by virtue of authority in his vested, and in pursuance of a resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of said County on the 16th day of April 1898 entered at page 82 volume C of the record of said board, adopting the provisions of Chapter 162 Session Laws of 1891, bid off in the name of said County the said property for the sum of six & 79/100 Dollars being the whole amount of taxes and charges thereon: And Whereas, The taxes and charges against said property for the year 1911 amounting to Twelve & 46/100 Dollars and for the year 1912 amounting to Twenty eight & 27/100 Dollars, and for the year 1914 Twenty four $ 25/100 Dollars, were duly entered on the book of Tax Sales opposite said property And Whereas, The said property has remained unredeemed from said sale for the period of three years: And Whereas, On the 18th day of Sept 1915 Leon CARTER of the County of Mitchell and State of Kansas offered to purchase said property for the sum of One Hundred Twenty one and 84/100 Dollars, being the amount of Taxes penalties and costs then due thereon, and paid said sum to the Treasurer of said County and there upon the said Treasurer did issue to said Leon CARTER a certificate of that date, as in such cases provided by law for and concerning said property, and the County Clerk of said County did, on the same day, duly assign to the purchaser aforesaid the said certificate of sale and all the interest of said County in and to said property: And Whereas, The subsequent taxes of the year 191 amounting to the sum of [blank] Dollars, were paid by said purchaser. And Whereas No part of the said property has been redeemed from said sale as provided by law, the said unredeemed real property having been advertised and notice given that it would be conveyed unless redeemed by a certain day names, said advertisement and notice having been made in substantial conformity with all the requisitions of the statute in such cases made and provided Now Therefore I T. H. MCCALL County Clerk of the County aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred twenty one & 84.100 Dollars, taxes penalties and charges due on said real property for the year 1911, 1912, 1913 and 1914 to the Treasurer as aforesaid and on presentation and surrender to me of the certificate of sale, and by virtue of the statue in such cases made and provided have granted, bargained and sold, and by these present to grant bargain and sell unto the said Leon CARTER heirs and assigns the real property heretofore described, to have and to hold unto the said Leon CARTER heirs and assigns, forever: subject however to all rights of redemption provided by law. In Witness Whereof I T. H. MCCALL County Clerk as aforesaid, have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the official seal of said Count on this 27th day of November A.D. 1915 T. H. MCCALL County Clerk (Seal) State of Kansas Mitchell County ss. I hereby Certify That before me J. W. MCGHEE a Notary Public in and for said County personally appeared the above named T. H. MCCALL Clerk of said County personally known to me to be the Clerk of said County at the date of the execution of the above conveyance and to be the identical person whose name is affixed to and who executed the above conveyance as Clerk of said County, and who duly acknowledged the execution to be his voluntary act and deed as Clerk of said County for the purpose therein expressed.
