    1. [KSMITCHE-L] NICHOLAS KLEIN DIED IN BELOIT, KS 1889
    2. Jack & Jo Kester
    3. First posting to this List. I am looking for any information about Nicholas KLEIN who was born in Germany, brought his wife and motherless granddaughter to Minster, Auglaize, OH in 1873 and for some reason traveled to Beloit, KS where he died in 1889. He is buried in Beloit. He was a veterinarian. An Elizabeth Klein (possibly a sister to Nicholas) who was married to ? BULTHAUPT. They also traveled to KS and I believe both of them are buried in Beloit. There seems to be a great migration to KS at this time. Was there more of an attraction than land grants? Thanks for any help and hints. Jo Kester kester@saber.udayton.edu

It is very simple to do. When I checked mine, it was set up for two figures for the year's date, instead of four figures. Try this. It just might work. If it does, it would sure save a lot of money by doing it yourself, instead of paying someone a lot of money to do it for us. --part0_914559973_boundary Content-ID: <0_914559973@inet_out.mail.juno.com.2> Content-type: message/rfc822 Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Content-disposition: inline Return-Path: <ksc9590@juno.com> Received: from rly-zd05.mx.aol.com (rly-zd05.mail.aol.com [172.31.33.229]) by air-zc01.mail.aol.com (v55.3) with SMTP; Thu, 24 Dec 1998 15:07:46 -0500 Received: from m4.boston.juno.com (m4.boston.juno.com [205.231.101.198]) by rly-zd05.mx.aol.com (8.8.8/8.8.5/AOL-4.0.0) with ESMTP id PAA21615 for <MArmstr237@aol.com>; Thu, 24 Dec 1998 15:07:44 -0500 (EST) Received: (from ksc9590@juno.com) by m4.boston.juno.com (queuemail) id DW9SU2LU; Thu, 24 Dec 1998 15:07:10 EST To: MArmstr237@aol.com Cc: dorothyreling@juno.com Subject: MArmstr237@aol.com: Fwd: [Fwd:[AGS-L] Y2K readiness for your PC] Message-ID: <19981224.152016.8079.1.KSC9590@juno.com> X-Mailer: Juno 1.49 X-Juno-Line-Breaks: 0-26,28,30-73,75-78,80-81,83-85,87-95,97-121 From: ksc9590@juno.com (Karen S. 1. [KSMITCHE-L] Announcing Immigrant Ships Transcribers Site
    2. Susan Scott
    3. This is to advise you that a new website is being developed by a group called THE IMMIGRANT SHIPS TRANSCRIBERS GUILD. This is a group of over 100 volunteers who have decided to transcribe NARA microfilmed passenger lists so that everyone on the internet can have free access to such lists. In addition, the GUILD is receiving donations of lists which have already been transcribed from people on the internet and from webmasters. The GUILD is also preparing links to many sites dealing with ships and passengers lists throughout the world. As of this date, there have been over 50 lists transcribed by volunteers, another 100 in the works, 100 lists donated to the site, and many sites agreeing to link their ships and sites. If you have a transcribed list you would like like to donate, you can contact Joan Rasanen, Resource Coordinator at Joaras@aol.com giving her the name of the ship, the ports of departure and arrival as well as the dates of each , and your e-mail address. http://iigs.rootsweb.com/immships/index1.html Thank you SUSAN SCOTT

    2. Jeff & Hollie Goldsby
    3. Hello, I'm looking for any information on Joseph/Alexander Baird and Margretha Cloepfil Baird and their families. I know that they were in the Mitchell County area in 1910. I'm not sure if Mr. Baird went by Joseph or Alexander, or the order of the two names (which is first?). I've heard him calle by both. He appears on the 1910 Census as Alexander, age 29. Margretha at age 24. Any information on the Baird family or the Cloepfil's would be appreciated. Thank you, Hollie Goldsby jgoldsby@coastalnet.com

    1. [KSMITCHE-L] Introduction...
    2. Edward A. Black, Sr. & Ruth M. Black
    3. I thought I'd introduce myself since I recently decided to establish this list. My name is Edward A. Black, Sr. and I established this list for those who desire to contact others who have like desires in locating family members or doing other genealogical rersearch in Mitchell County, Kansas. My interest in Mitchell Co., KS comes because my wife has a number of family members that were born and raised in Mitchell County, KS. I myself was born and raised in California where my parents moved to after World War II. I currently live in Lancaster, California and have been married 27-1/2 years, having raised a son, who himself is married and has 2 sons of his own. He lives in McAllen, TX. I have found that the lists I've taken part in have helped a lot in locating family members on either my own or that of my wife's family. My surnames that I am looking information up on are the HAWKINS. A number of the HAWKINS family were born in Mitchell County. Enjoy this new site and I do hope that it will assist you users with your genealogical work. It is intended to be a tool for that purpose. Take care & God Bless, Sincerily, Edward A. Black, Sr.
