Sure you can find us either way. Also, if you could furnish me the maiden name of your mother-in-law and some of her siblings and parents, I could look in our society's holdings and see if anything could be found. If you would like to do some searching with the society, let me know, as it is only open whenever the Cawker City Library is open. The society is unmanned so a volunteer could meet you there if prior arrangements were made. My email: razatge@nckcn.com I could then give you my phone #, etc. ray

My itenerary brings me to Glen Eller Sunday, July 7th. As road trip plans go I have to give this a day one side or the other. I am looking forward to our visit in Glen Eller. I think we will stay at the state camp ground.... seems to be the closest place to stay. I will be visiting the birth place of my mother-in-law, my daughter's grandmother, Lora Nell Jones, born Aug 18 1916. She died in Washington 1995. I believe Lora's parents and brother are buried in Glenwwod. Sincerely thanking you, Joyce

Driving west on US 24 (from Beloit, KS), the road to Glen Elder turns left (west), but to go to the Glenwood Cem, turn right (east). Follow the gravel road for about one half mile - cemetery is on the right. A directory of all persons laid to rest there was recently erected near the middle of the cemetery. At our society, we have Books of all the cemeteries, listing every one who is there. They were published in the early 1980's. I am available to show you around the area, if you need it. ray

Thanks for the detailed info from the gravestone. I still have not found information on the death of John Daniels, Nancy's second husband but another relative found their marrige---VanMeter, Nancy m. Daniels, John 14 Aug 1862 Lucas Co., Iowa. We believe the Eli VanMeter you found in the same cemetery to be the last child of Nancy Phillips and Miles VanMeter. Strange twist is that we believe Eli had a youngest daughter named Nancy VanMeter who married my great grandfather's eldest brother, William Peter "Will" Johnson. Will and my g gf John A. Johnson were siblings in the family of John Daniel Johnson and Caroline Phillips (we don't know yet whether the Catharine Phillips shown as the adult in the household in 1850 in Lucas Co., IA is actually a sister to Nancy Phillips above or whether our Catharine may have been married to a brother of Nancy Phillips) With more digging I'm sure we will come up with the answers------eventuallllllllllllyyyyy. Thanks so much for your help.
