There are canvasses published by the North Central Kansas Genealogical Society or the Mitchell County Historical Society. The canvasses were made 1975-95, if I remember correctly. I recently discovered my great5-grandmother Mary SCHREFFLER is buried in Beloit. She died I think about 1916 or so. She apparently is buried in the RECORD family plot. Her daughter Rebecca SCHREFFLER married William L. RECORD, 1868 in Harrison co., Missouri. Seems like William L. & Rebecca are buried in the same cemetery, they had a daughter, named as Alace (Alice?) in the census of 1880 in Mitchell county who may be buried there as well. Are there any published records of the cemeteries in Beloit? Thanks so much. Christopher Barttels Dayton, WA

Do you know if Martha Parson Hilligoss was the daughter of Martin & Mary Williams who married George W. Parson/Parsons in 1881? They divorced in 1893 in St. John, KS. I have not been able to find her since, thought she might have remarried. Thanks for any info you might have. Leona

Hello, I just recently found my ancestor's obit in the Osborne County Farmer Weekly Newspaper. Nov 23, 1911. Mrs John Schalk. It mentions very little about her death. It did say that the Catholic Church in Tipton took care of her service. And that she died at her daughter's home Mrs Henry Adams in Tipton. I was wondering if there would be someone that could look in the Newspaper that was around in 1911 or Mrs John Schalk's obit. She died Nov 21, 1911 on a Tuesday. I was hoping that it would give more information. Also if any one has a address to the Catholic Church in Tipton. Charlotte E. Flock
There are several listings for Ludwig families in Kansas at http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=5541&p=surnames.ludwig& maxrows=250&dir=next&cur=182.1 (the URL is one line). Some Ludwigs I went to school with at St. John's in Beloit were cousins Roger and Rodney, born 1951 approx. They are not in my data for family research. (Just verifying that the family was in Mitchell county.) Thomas Kohn

My Luxembourger ARENS side settled near St. Donatus, IA (also largely Luxembourger community). Then migrated by wagon train to Alton and Remsen, IA about 1870. I'm curious to learn the surnames of those who migrated from Caledonia to Tipton. My ARENS, and most of the Luxembourgers who settled near St. Donatus, were from southwestern Luxembourg. My HENDEL were from north central Luxembourg. Is there a 'history of Tipton' that relates this 'wagon train' event? I would like to learn more of these luxembourgers.
