I've "rescued" an old photograph of Mrs. Emma SIMPSON which was taken at the Wheeler Studio in Taylorsville, Illinois. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Emma appearing to be in her 30's or 40's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Emma and her family: Emma Jane SALTHOUSE was b. 14 Jul 1852 and married Robert Stuart SIMPSON (b. 3 Feb 1841 in Scio or Stock, OH) on 11 Apr 1872 in Rosamond, IL. The couple had 4 children including, Carl Moore; Stanley S.; Nellie S.; and Vera Pearl SIMPSON all born between 1873 and 1897 in Christian Co. IL and in KS. Emma died in McPherson, KS. Census records record the following information: 1880 census of Rosemond, IL: Robert S. SIMPSON, age 39, born OH, a Physician, parents born PA/Ireland Emma J. SIMPSON, wife, age 25, born IL, Keeps House, parents born England/Ireland Stanley S. SIMPSON, son, age 4, born IL Nellie SIMPSON, dau, age 1, born IL I am hoping to locate someone from Emma's family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of her family.
