The reference I have is of "grandfather" Will V. Hays, b. 11/04/1868, d. 12/18/32 and is buried in the Fairmont Cemetery in Marshall County. My paternal grandmother was a Hays born in the Cedar Creek Community, north of Manhattan (Pottawatomie County). I do not know of a specific connection of my family to the Hays family in Marshall County but would like to investigate that possibility. The Hays of my family go back to Pennsylvania, West Virginia and of course further to the Scotch Irish of County Tyrone, Ireland.
