James D Gray homesteaded in Marshall County in the early 1860s and lived there until abt 1876. In his obituary ( in Colorado) it says he was the second sheriff in Marshall County for the 1870s. Does anyone know how I can verify this? Thanks in advance for your assistance. Frank
