Lynn..... Thanks for that great information. Do you know how old the courthouse is? Has it been there since 1880? I recently found out that the man who I think may be my great grandfather, Hickman Pendleton Wells, was a probate judge in 1880. That could then be the courthouse that he performed duties in. Is there a picture online that anyone knows about? Barbara F. replied to an email that I sent to her a couple of weeks ago and said that she is going to look for information on him. I would think if he was a probate judge and lived in Marysville, KS, there should be some information on him somewhere. I am awaiting a reply from Barbara and looking excitedly forward. I did ask if there was a charge for her checking on this for me, but she did not reply to that question. Do you know what the typical charge is from her society? Thanks again for your posting.
