Hi Cindy, The book is "THE HISTORY OF KANSAS". Do you have any further info you could provide other than last name? Like first names, dates, where from, etc. I seem to recall a town of Beatty or similar spelling in Marshall Co., KS. If I am remembering correctly about the name, do you know if settlers of this town were related to the individuals you seek? I have a copy of the book mentioned. Are you aware of the online link to this book at http://www.kancoll.org/andcutl.htm ? I have found it to be a great html-page-searchable resource. I've only discovered a couple of instances where the WONDERFUL online transcription differed from or omitted information found in the source document. Kansas Collection web site ( http://www.kancoll.org )has many GREAT resource documents on line in addition to this particular book.
