"DIED: Monday morning, July 20, 1896, Mrs. Frances Button, wife of D. C. Button, of this city, after an illness which began last November and has continued steadily since then. Frances Button, nee Wing, was born at Parisville, St. Lawrence county, New York, June 9, 1825, and was united in marriage with Mr. D. C. Button on the 24th of November, 1850, at Bryan, Ohio. From this union were born ten children, only two of whom survive their mother. These are Leander BUTTON and Mrs. Minnie CRISSMAN, who resides in Missouri and is detained from her mother's funeral by sickness. Mrs. BUTTON was a woman of strong decision of purpose, a kind and loving wife and mother, a consistent and faithful Christian and a good neighbor. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for the last twenty-five years of her life. During the civil war and while her husband was serving his country in the ranks of the army, she, in common with thousands of faithful, loyal women of America, kept the home, laboring day and night for her children and drove want from the door of her house. At the ripe old age of 71 years 1 month and 11 dayus she is gathered to her fathers. Her suffering has been long and painful, a catarrh which tended to consumption, eating her life away day by day. The last time she left the house was to attend the wedding of her grand daughter, Violetta BUTTON to Mr. Ed. POTTER, and the infair on the following day at Mr. POTTER's. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bernhard at the M. E. church at 2 o'clock on Tuesday and her weary body was laid to rest in the cemetery on the hill." ---end-- Note: Please contact me with info about any of the above people: Mary K.
