"Former Beattie Woman Dies In Iowa Hospital: Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Irene BUTTON, 69, former resident of Beattie who died in an Iowa City, Ia., hospital October 24, were conducted from Beattie Methodist church yesterday afternoon. Interment was in Beattie Union cemetery. The daughter of Washington and Mary PIERCE, she was born April 8, 1879, at Blooming Glen, Pa., and at the age of five she came with her parents to Marshall county. She was married to Milo Austin BUTTON at Marysville October 20, 1897, and they became the parents of three children. Most of her life she had resided in the Beattie community, with the exception of seven years spent at Meriden [KS] and the past four years at Topeka [KS]. She suffered a stroke while visiting friends in Downey, Iowa, October 17, and was taken to an Iowa City hospital. Surviving are her son, Chester BUTTON, Kansas City, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Loren MORGAN, Emporia, Mrs. Harry MORGAN, Ottawa and Mrs. A. J.
