Mrs. Edward Potter Services At Beattie: Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Beattie Thursday, October 25, 1962, at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Edward C. Potter, who died at Junction City Sunday, October 21, 1962. She was 88 years one month and three days of age. Violetta Frances Button was born September 18, 1874, at York, Nebraska, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leander Button. She was united in marriage to Edward C. Potter on February 26, 1896. He preceded her in death. Two children and her parents also preceded her in death. She was a memeber of the Beattie Methodist church, Order of Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors of America and was a Gold Star mother. She had made her home with a son, Glen Potter of Junction City for five years since leaving Beattie. Survivors include two other sons, Merrill of Portland, Ore.; Leroy of Omaha; a brother A. D. Button of Wichita; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Rev. Charles Harpe officiated and interment was in Beattie Union Cemetery. Music was by Mrs. Ed Fitzgerald, who sang "Abide With Me" and "Beyond The Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Barney Heeney. Pall bearers were Meredith Gaston, Glen Wuester, Clyde Craig, Cecil Glick, Herbert Hughes, Robert Keller." ------end------ Note: Please contact me with info about any of the above: Mary K.
