"Mrs Elizabeth BUTTON: Elizabeth Ann MARKS was born to Eli and Mary Marks in Delaware County, Ohio, February 12, 1854. When a small child she moved with her parents to Grundy County, Illinois. On November 11, 1873 she was united in marriage with Leander BUTTON. To this union were born three children: Mrs. Violetta F. POTTER, of Beattie [KS]; Milo A. BUTTON of Meriden; and Albert D. BUTTON, of Wichita [KS]. She departed this life September 20, 1937, at the age of 83 years, seven months and eight days. Mrs. BUTTON came with her husband and children to Marshall County, Kansas, living on a farm near Beattie, and later moving to town where she lived until 1911 and then moved to Marysville. After the death of her husband on March 15, 1921, she came back to Beattie where she made her home the remainder of her life. When a small child she united with the church and always remained a faithful member. She was also a member of the R.N.A. Four grandchildren having preceded her in death, she leaves to mourn, three children, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one sister, three brothers and a number of nieces and nephews, and many warm friends. Funeral services were held at the Beattie Methodist Church, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The funeral sermon was delivered by the Rev. Edwin N. Judd, pastor of the church.
