One of my ancestors is a Galen Charley Gray b. 1885 in Marion, Kansas. He married Sarah Elizabeth (Lizzy) Heydorf in 1912 in Marysville, Marshall Co., Kansas. He died in 1949 in Blue Rapids, Kansas (12 miles s. of Marysville) and is buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery a mile n. of Blue Rapids. They had 2 children: Mildred Elnora & James Galen Gray. I am sorry but I do not know the parents of Galen but I bet the person who takes care of the cemetery would have the records (or his death certificate might show it). Sarah remarried in 1932 to Oscar W. Wuester as Galen & Sarah were divorced June 15, 1931 in Marshall County, Ks. You could write to the Sexton of the cemetery asking for copy of papers filled out at the time of death. Also, the Marshall Co Historical Society may have a copy of the obit that might state the parents. If they don't have - the Ks St Historical Society will send copies of obits. I don't know what the cost is now. You could find their site and it might tell. ----- Original Message ----- From: JLKraft <jlkraft@access-one.com> To: <KSMARSHA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 30, 2002 5:28 AM Subject: Re: Surname Gray early Homestead > One of my ancestors is a Galen Charley Gray b. 1885 in Marion, Kansas. Donald Ubben takes care of the records for the Prospect Hill Cemetery. He has a Blue Rapids, Ks. phone number. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dorothy Bailey" <DorothyB2@prodigy.net> To: <KSMARSHA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 30, 2002 11:46 AM Subject: Re: Surname Gray early Homestead > You could write to the Sexton of the cemetery asking for copy of papers > filled out at the time of death. > Also, the Marshall Co Historical Society may have a copy of the obit that > might state the parents. > If they don't have - the Ks St Historical Society will send copies of obits. > I don't know what the cost is now.
